Happy Birthday, Mommy! Love, Cinderella

Kate helped me celebrate my birthday with a live performance of Cinderella and by singing a lovely version of Happy Birthday/helping to blow out my candles. She certainly brings much joy to the celebration!

No more pictures please!

This is Kate after church last week. She was screaming when I tried to get her dressed (someone is a bit of a homebody, so it is often hard to get her out the door!), and the only thing that calmed her was letting her pick out her shoes. I thought the white sandals were a better match, but Miss Kate disagreed. I call this her paparazzi picture. She is driving away and refusing to allow me to get the perfect shot:)

You have to love St. Louis and all of the free or next-to-free offerings for kids. We convinced Kate to leave the house for a quick trip to the zoo on Friday. We were only there for about an hour and a half, but we were able to ride the carousel (a must-d0 every time) and see the new stingray exhibit while we were there. Kate is a bit obsessed with the "jackrabbit" on the carousel. Of all the animals she could pick...the jackrabbit...seriously?

Summer has arrived!

We are so happy to be home for the summer! This first picture is at Emily McDaniel's graduation party. I had Emily in class three of her four years of English, which is a total rarity. Therefore, I got to know her quite well, and she is really special to all of us, including Kate, for whom she has babysat a few times. We will miss her when she goes away to college in the fall, but we are so proud of her!

The first video shows Kate doing one of her new hobbies: "froggying." Froggying usually actually consists of Greg or me bouncing her around from one piece of furniture to the next while she acts like a frog. Much to the content of our arms and backs, however, the video shows her more independent style of the art of froggying.

The second video reveals a trip to the imaginary grocery store sans pants.
